Memory Lane

down the memory lane there lives many a day

a day of happiness

a day of sorrow

a day of hoping

for a merrier tomorrow

a day of sun, shining bright

a day of darkness darker than the night

a day full of overwhelming friends

a day of desolation knowing no ends

a day when hands were many but tears few

a day of scarce hands but tears anew

a day when troubles seemed fun

a day when solutions were none

a day full of love making eyes shine

a day of such loss that one still pine

a day of sheer bliss

a day of feeling amiss

dull or stark, light or dark

in the memory lane they have a mark

some give smiles, some moist eyes

down this lane when one drives

with the tides of time people move away

but to the memory lane they always find a way
